When I was networking with prospective lawyers at She Who Achieves – organised by the Us Programme (founded by the incredible Victoria Azubuike) – I was asked by some of the girls to cover the basics of becoming a lawyer on my blog.
Whatever you do, don’t get complacent with your work-wear. You’ve got to look the part to get taken seriously – there’s no way around it.
Don’t be afraid to be the odd one out! Make sure people see your own unique personality and experiences. Show how they translate into energy and enthusiasm for the work you want to do.
Don’t forget to expose yourself to legal environments and gain relevant experience as you prepare for a career in law.
